The birth of the country dates back before the year one thousand. Witness the Ancient Lombard Tower in the center of the Benedictine Monastery. A half kilometer from Badia al Pino on top of a hill is Dorna, an ancient settlement Lombard, now transformed into a farm.

The wine is of excellent quality and varies from Sangiovese to Chianti. The oil of excellent taste and very low in fat. Badia al Pino is at the heart of the Val di Chiana area famous worldwide for its meat: The 'Chianina Meat'.

The calf of the Val di Chiana, completely white, is the largest beef farm in the world and its meat is sought after on all the tables of international restaurants.
It can be tasted in restaurants not far from the Albergo La Posta. Our area is very suitable for walkers, hiking and bicycling.

The village is surrounded by wheat fields, olive trees and vines. The forests of oaks, holm oaks and chestnut trees full of mushrooms (you can find, when the weather is good the black mushroom that grows between the brooms in the woods of oak) are the frame of a typical Tuscan landscape. Walking through the woods is not difficult to find large boars, porcupines, hares and pheasants deer.
